a bit about me.
Meet Ali from Paperhouse Editing

Ali is an editor and writer living in Melbourne. In 2018 she graduated from Deakin University, where she completed a Bachelor of Arts majoring in professional and creative writing and literary studies, and was awarded first class honours. Her studies focused on writing, editing and speculative fiction.
People have said that Ali has eyes like a hawk, and incidentally the only thing she would give up writing and editing for is to become a professional bird-watcher in the south of England. But that’s not really a profession.
Ali has experience editing genre manuscripts, fiction and non-fiction anthologies, academic essays, literary magazines and short fiction. She believes that writers are essential for the creation of culture and the way we see our world, and she works in the knowledge that everyone deserves a voice and a platform from which to express themselves.

PAPERHOUSE GOALS
CLARITY
Communication & Transparency
Creating a working relationship with clients through effective and transparent communication is my first priority. I will always seek to be open, honest and authentic in every interaction with you, including any written content posted in my blog or social media accounts.
ABUNDANCE
Positivity & Growth
Just like you, I’m searching for an abundance of the good things in life. That means an abundance of positivity, creative and professional growth, and that elusive lass, time. I strive to be efficient in my work, because I believe working smarter, not harder, is mutually beneficial. And I always communicate positively with clients because I believe the best work grows from a place of nourishment.
FAIRNESS
Reasonable Pricing & Mutual Benefit
I don’t believe in pricing my services beyond the scope of the everyday person. If none of my listed prices suit your budget I am more than happy to work out a mutually beneficial option with you. First and foremost, I believe that everyone deserves a voice.
COMMUNITY
Meaningful Engagement & Participation
Paperhouse Editing acknowledges the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation, the Traditional Owners of the land on which I work, and all Traditional Owners of country throughout Australia. I recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' continuing connection to land, place, waters and community. I pay my respects to their cultures, country and elders past present and emerging. Paperhouse Editing respects Australia's first storytellers.
I aim to operate my business in the knowledge that through every interaction I am becoming part of the links within Australia’s (and beyond) diverse writing community. It is my honour to participate in this creative community through meaningful engagement.
If these goals and values align with your own, feel free to contact me. I'm here to help, and hopefully learn from you too.
